Petroglyphs to be returned

The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) Board of Trustees welcomes today's announcement from the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs that TMAG’s permit application to return the Preminghana petroglyphs in its collection has been approved.

The Board recognises the significance of this material as part of an extensive and complex cultural landscape at Preminghana.

TMAG now looks forward to working with the Aboriginal Land Council of Tasmania (ALCT) to agree arrangements for the return of this material.
