Opportunity for Tasmanian artists

Courtyard_entrance_Atelier_render

Tasmanian artists have a unique opportunity to create a public artwork for the new entrance of the redeveloped Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG).

The site interpretation will incorporate both the Indigenous and European heritage of TMAG’s courtyard and watergate area.

The commission invites a broad interpretation of the idea of public art creating a strong connection between contemporary arts practice and the historical fabric of TMAG’s courtyard.

TMAG encourages as many artists as possible, and particularly those working in new media, to apply for this commission, and to register their interest.

Further information about the commission is available from Arts Tasmania’s Public Art Officer, Julie Stoneman on 6237 6312.
