Making room for redevelopment

One of the crucial tasks in preparing for the redevelopment is finding room somewhere for many of our objects to go during construction.

While most of the collection items from the galleries that are being redeveloped head to our Rosny Collections and Research Facility, many other display objects have to find a new (albeit temporary) home.

That's meant a busy time for facilities coordinator Richard Kowaluk, charged with the job of finding suitable storage space.

Richard's been spending a lot of time out at our Moonah storage area, working with a team of others to rearrange what is already on site and installing new shelving for the soon-to-arrive items.

It's not only objects headed to Moonah, our hard-working conservation team is setting up a laboratory next door to the warehouse.

That's meant renovations and upgrade to I.T. infrastructure.
