Animal ark the love of our latest young collector

Layne Pepper’s collection of Schleich animals is now on display in our Discovery Space.

Layne has more than 140 of the hand-painted animals in her collection,

She started buying the German range of creatures when she was six, after a fateful visit to a Hobart toy store.

“When my Mum pronounced it was time to go I grabbed 3 horses and a family of deer and purchased them on the spot.  That was the beginning of my obsession.“

Layne has named each of the 140 plus animals in her collection but the horses and deer remain her favourites.

“I love these animals because they are great for children to play with, but would also make great ornaments for older children or adults to collect.”
